Kustom
Integrates Kustom's iframe checkout, keeping the Kustom order synchronized with the cart.
Overview
A hosted checkout is a good trade: the provider handles the hard parts of paying, and you get a familiar experience in markets where that familiarity converts.
The catch is that the basket is now being rendered somewhere you do not control. If a line changes, a campaign applies or shipping is recalculated, the summary in the checkout has to be updated too — otherwise the shopper approves one thing and your operation receives another.
This app keeps the two in step. Cart changes are pushed to Kustom as they happen, so the order being approved is the current one. Completion has a fallback, because customers close tabs — if the confirmation never arrives from the browser, the provider’s own notification still finishes the job.
It also gives your own rules a say before checkout completes, which is how a customer hears “this address cannot be delivered to” at the checkout rather than from an apology two days later.
What it does
-
Iframe checkout for the storefront
An idempotent checkout endpoint creates or returns the Kustom order and hands back the snippet the storefront renders.
-
Cart synchronization
Kustom renders the order summary inside its own iframe, so the app pushes cart changes to Kustom whenever the basket changes.
-
Completion with a fallback
Confirmation normally arrives from the browser after redirect; when it does not, Kustom's push notification completes the cart instead.
-
Validation before completion
Merchant rules can veto checkout completion with a structured error shown to the customer inside the Kustom checkout.
-
External payment methods
Merchant rules can add other methods, such as PayPal, to the Kustom checkout per cart and channel.
-
Capture flow
Authorized Kustom orders are captured through the payment capture flow rather than in the provider's dashboard.
Apps that usually run together.
Most operations install more than one. These are the apps this one is most often paired with, because they share the same order.
